Workshop Concept: This three day workshop will introduce the students to the six elements of art which are the building blocks to creating ALL artwork. Knowledge and skills of the art elements are essential to personal growth as an artist. The six elements of art are: line, shape, form, space, texture, value and color. Artists manipulate these elements, mix them in with principles of design and compose a piece of art. Not every work has every last one of these elements contained within it, but there are always at least two present. The workshop will be divided into six segments allowing ample time to introduce and have the students work on projects with each element. Each student will put together a portfolio of paintings, studies, and drawings from the workshop centered around the elements of art.
