Workshop Concept: This half day workshop will introduce the students to painting in the "Luminous" technique. The students will be introduced to the second generation Hudson River School painters who specialized in the luminous style. American painters like George Innes, Albert Bierstadt, Frederic Church, and John Kensett wanted to capture more than what the landscape looked like... they were after a mood, a feeling, a sense of capturing light. Join Bernie as he discusses these artists and demonstrates how to capture the "glare" of luminous skies and light. Students will work along side of Bernie as they paint their own masterpiece in this style. Bernie's step-by-step technique will have you amazed at how easy it is to capture luminosity in your oil paintings.
